A principal and founder of Baker Storey McDonald Properties. He has over 35 years of shopping center experience in the central South. Carl has been involved in the ground up development and renovation of over 2 million square feet of retail space. Recent projects have included a wide variety of tenants including Publix, TJ Maxx, Ross, Panera Bread, Nordstrom Rack and Hobby Lobby.
Carl has served as a trusted retail advisor in a wide variety of situations throughout his career. He has served as a Bankruptcy Court Appointed Receiver and managed REO properties for a diverse group of clients including the FDIC, banks, special servicer’s, and many institutional and local owners. He has planned and executed a wide variety of creative projects including conversion of a mall to an open center and several dramatic renovations including a project which involved the staged demolition and reconstruction of 100% of a center working around several existing tenants.
